COTTON USA COLLABORATES WITH DERYCK WALKER FOR SECOND SEASON RUNNING

COTTON USA continued its commitment to support up-and-coming designers during London Fashion Week (LFW) 10th-15th February 2008. For the second season, we sponsored Scottish designer Deryck Walker at On|Off, by arrangement with the Royal Academy of Arts, 6 Burlington Gardens. The continuation of this partnership builds on the success of last season's collection and aims to educate retailers and consumers alike about the qualities of U.S. cotton, which is renowned for its purity, comfort, strength and durability.

This season, Deryck Walker unveiled his second women's collection alongside his established menswear. The collection juxtaposed neat 50's tailored silhouettes with modern day youth culture. Deryck offers a relaxed formal look, with an androgynous edge combined with intricate panel details and exaggerated V shapes.

Entitled 'Wizard', the collection saw Deryck expressing design elements he has learnt throughout his career, whilst displaying his forward-thinking spirit and fascination with the windmill shape and movement, through 10 men's and 18 women's looks. This collection followed the success of last season's 'Information' ensemble which was sponsored by COTTON USA.

Deryck Walker comments: "I am thrilled to be working with COTTON USA again as I love using high quality cottons. The versatility of U.S. cotton along with its impeccable quality, durability and softness means it was and is an ideal fabric to use in my 'Information' and 'Wizard' collections."

Stephanie Thiers-Ratcliffe, International Marketing Manager of COTTON USA says: "We're delighted to be continuing our commitment to supporting up and coming designers by sponsoring Deryck. He is a perfect fit with COTTON USA. Our continued collaboration highlights the quality of different fabrics using U.S. cotton to the fashion industry and consumers alike."

The COTTON USA support is organised by Doll.
